SYSTEM PROFILE

The basic element of BALARDO steel  is the support profile with its support clamping system made from high-quality galvanised steel. The glass plates with the specially developed clamping shoe are inserted into this profile and secured firmly in place throughout.

CONNECTION TO THE BUILDING STRUCTURE

Connection to the building structure is possible from above or from the side. Screw and welded connections are also possible.

BALARDO steel  is extremely flexible in both public and private construction projects and when used on level surfaces and staircases. Its structural strengths are particularly beneficial in the case of raised floor constructions, uneven substrates and in applications that require TICS bridging.

INTELLIGENT DESIGN AND FAST INSTALLATION

BALARDO steel is based on a specially developed planning- and installation-friendly modular system consisting of high-quality components. The clamping profile made from hot-dip galvanised steel for securing the panes in place as well as optional structural attachment elements and panels for a range of different requirements guarantee simple and efficient dry installation. Since the glass panes are wedged into the clamping profile, there is no need for glass drill holes or grouting the panes. This makes it easy to replace the glazing at any time without having to dismantle the supporting structure.

There are two mounting sets available:

  1. The CLICK•N Fix mounting set
  2. The wedge band system

1. Align and fit the structural attachment elements and the support profile. Screw in the locking screw to secure everything in place.

2. Align the BALARDO support profile on the inside using the structural attachment element and then attach the structural attachment element securely to the building structure.

3. Insert the clamping shoe (printed part number facing upwards).

4. Insert the glass pane. Clearance between glass pane and BALARDO support profile approx. 3-10 mm.

5. Position the EPDM bearing profile on the clamping shoe.

6. Press the glass outwards and insert the EPDM spacer.

7. Insert the clamping rods all the way through (max. spacing 20 mm) and hammer them in to the required depth using a setting tool.

8. Clip in the external and internal panels. Insert the seals.

9. Install the glass edge protection profile (A) or handrail (B). And that's it!

1. Insert clamping shoe (shorter shaft inward/longer shaft outward).

2. Insert glass pane

3. Move the pane back and forth while applying downward pressure. Clearance between glass pane and BALARDO support profile approx. 3-10 mm.

4. Place the wedge band on the outside on the fall side between the support profile and clamping shoe.

5. Insert the aluminium wedge-shaped pieces. Press the glass outwards, firmly push in the aluminium wedge-shaped pieces and hammer these in with the setting tool. Spacing between each wedge: approx. 1-2 cm.

6. Clip in the outer and inner panels.

7. Mount glass edge protection profile (A) or handrail (B).
