According to DIN 18008 Part 2, overhead glazing is all glazing with an inclination of more than 10° from the vertical. DIN 18008 does not apply to bonded façade elements, curved overhead glazing or glazing that is used for reinforcement as planned.

Fall-proof vertical glazing in categories C3 and C1 is not used to support beam loads. Category C3 denotes floor-to-ceiling glazing with a projecting load-bearing beam. Category C1 refers to railing cladding mounted at specific points on at least two opposite sides, e.g.
